Oliver Brunton honoured at the Sports Volunteer Awards

Northern Ireland Karate President, Oliver Brunton, was recently honoured at the Sports Volunteer Awards held in Belfast City Hall.
The ceremony was to recognise the efforts of unsung sporting heroes.
Oliver received the 'Volunteer in Disability Sport Award'.
This was for the work he has done over a number of years encouraging those with disabilities to participate in karate, and, several years ago, introducing a special category for people with a disability at the Northern Ireland National Championships.
Accepting the award, Oliver remarked how the study of karate had helped him throughout his life, and he was therefore keen to pass the benefits on to others.
"I firmly believe karate is for all, and this has been the reason why it has been a mission of mine to pass it on to as many different people as possible," he said.
