Lauren Salisbury Youth Olympic Qualifer

History for British karate was made in Croatia with Lauren Salisbury competing in Youth Olympic qualifying event. There was 2 opportunities to go through this process. On the second day Lauren made it to the last 4 athletes in her weight category of +59kgs having just missed out on the first day. Lauren beat Home nation Croatia for that all important place in the final and to gain a qualification spot.

In the final Lauren faced Japan and came away with the silver medal.

Lauren now joins Charlotte Hope as the British Karate Federations first Youth Olympians.
